When Port Macquarie Hastings Council embarked on a playground upgrade, the priorities were clear: a thrilling, active space for all ages and stages, which highlights the beautiful natural environment. Before finalising plans, the council engaged the community for initial ideas and input followed by feedback on concept designs. The result? An abundance of timber throughout the playground is a natural nod to Town Beach’s surrounds. Climb to the top of an impressive tower for sweeping water views, before gliding down (on a giant tube slide or two smaller slides) for more big adventures. A clever combines a spider web climbing frame, stepping stones, hanging rings, mini curved flying fox, funky climbing wall and fireman pole. All-in-all, it’s an obstacle course that’s irresistible for the young – and young at heart!
