Play Priorities
The Whangarei District Council has ensured locals and visitors alike make the most of their time outdoors in McLeod Bay, with the inclusion of a bright, fun-filled playground on the waterâs edge.
A popular weekend and holiday destination, McLeod Bay attracts scores of visitors seeking to soak up the fresh air and quieter pace of this bayside community on New Zealandâs North Island. With this in mind, the Council wanted to create a play space that could cater for the flow of families to McLeod Bay Park while also weathering the seasons and coastal conditions, now and into the future.
Fun Solution
A selection of Playground Centreâs most popular play equipment, finished in a rainbow of colours, provides a drawcard for families with children.
The Classic 902 â Timber is an all-ages modular play system packed with play value and capable of catering for more than 30 little adventurers at once. The structure combines a toddler-friendly ground-level Shop Counter and low-level tower platform with ladder and slide for juniors with a second, higher tower and adjoining balance and coordination activities for the more adventurous or older children.
The tower is surrounded by individual items chosen to engage children in imaginative, active and interactive play. Kids can hang out and swing in the rotating Lantern Climbing Nest. Or, buddy up and jump on the Timber Seesaw or Timba 2 Bay Swing, or dance and sing as they play on the Conga Drums.
Fun and games aside, the play equipment chosen for McLeod Bay Park is tough and durable. Prior to installation, all of the metal elements were treated with Playground Centreâs Hurricane Galv Protection System and Triple Coat Protective Powdercoating to guard against corrosion and rust. While, the use of high quality UV Stabilised Plastic will ensure the longevity of moulded plastic features such as the slides on the Classic 902.
