Play Priorities
Hokitika is a town on New Zealand's South Island. The townâs Lions Club recognised a need to redevelop the local Lazar Park playground to make it safer, more inclusive, and to encourage many types of play: imaginative, active, adventurous, sensory and social. With the support of Council and partnering with Playground Centre, The Hokitika Lions Club spearheaded a new playspace with all the ingredients of a much-loved community hub for all ages and abilities.
Fun Solution
The result is enough to make any town proud! A wheelchair carousel has room for two wheelchairs, plus seats on each side so more people can join in the fun. A flying saucer basket swing is great for everyone and the themed play ship comes complete with a climbing net and wobbly bridge ascent for hours of imaginative play. Standing at nearly 7-metres tall, the Black Forest Tower is a breathtaking sight and action-packed adventure â including a central climbing chimney, baskets, rope bridge, scramble net, ladders and much more!
